Special Meeting –September 7, 2021

Meeting was called to order by Mayor Kortni A. Sandridge at 5:01 PM.
Present: Mayor Kortni A. Sandridge. Council Members: James Musgrave, Theresa Knight, James Brannam, Donald Dotson, Jr ., Amberly Taylor, City Clerk, Robin A. Valentine, City Clerk Office Assistant, Doug Cox, Water Plant Operator.

~ Doug Cox – Telemetry for Storage Tanks – Previous bid $65,000.00 new bid $40,500.00 James Musgrave made motion to accept proposal as it will be saving money and is beneficial to the town. Theresa Knight seconded the motion. Unanimous approval.
~ Tree Service Bids – Jacobs Tree Service does not have equipment, JF Tree Service was too high, Boswell Farm was selected to provide the work in the amount of $6,731.00 and provide contractor a place to dump shavings and prunings – James Musgrave made motion to accept – Theresa Knight seconded the motion – Unanimous approval.
~ Dump Truck – Tabled – Council to have quotes for Regular Meeting on 09-13-2021 James Musgrave motioned to accept – Theresa Knight – seconded the motion. Unanimous approval.
~ Gene Marks – Retaining wall damage from contractors – Mayor Sandridge spoke with Mr. Marks via speaker phone inquiring of him if the Town paid him one-half (1/2) of the total cost of $967.68 would that satisfy and resolve his issue. Mr. Marks indicated and agreed that it would. Mayor Sandridge then advised the Council that the Town would pay Mr. Marks $483.84 as the resolution. James Musgrave made motion to accept James Brannam seconded the motion. Unanimous approval.
Theresa Knight made a motion to adjourn the meeting. James Musgrave seconded the motion.Unanimous approval. Meeting adjourned at 5:54pm.
