Loretta Jean Davis

Loretta Jean Davis, 74 of Salem departed this life on Tuesday, August 31, 2021 in the Clarksburg Nursing & Rehab Center.  She was born on June 4, 1947 in Clarksburg a daughter of the late William and Moneta Edgel Davis.

Also surviving are one brother, William “Bill” Davis II and wife Peggy, Salem, one sister, Shelby Ford and husband Jeffery, Salem, nephews, Brent Davis and wife Traci, Salem, Evan Ford and fiancé Erica Russell, West Union, nieces, Michelle Davis, Pittsburgh, PA, Emily Herndon and husband Alex, Salem and her special K-9 Companion, “Molly”.

Loretta was a former employee of Clarksburg Casket Company in seamstress department.  She was the former owner and operator of Dairy Dream in Salem. Although handicapped at age 6 with polio she never let it keep her from working and living her life.  Loretta was a Lifetime member of Ladies Auxiliary VFW Post 9151. She was a member of Victory Baptist Church. Loretta was an avid cook and enjoyed tending to her house plants. She always had a smile on her face and kept a positive attitude.

Funeral services will be conducted in the Harbert Funeral Home 287 W. Main St. Salem on Saturday, September 4, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Bill Davis presiding.  Interment will follow in the Salem I.O.O.F. Memorial Park.  The family will receive friends in the funeral home chapel on Friday, September 3, 2021 from 4-8 p.m.
