Doddridge County Library Board and County Commission Pays Off Agreement for New Library

On June 25th, 2021, as found in Deed Book 480 at page 196, Webb and Sons Holding LLC, Derick Webb and Stanley Webb (Members) conveyed to the Doddridge County Library Board of Trustees the property known as the “New Doddridge County Public Library,” a 0.582 acre tract that was further described as being on Neely Avenue and James Street, West Union, WV.

This property was previously leased from Webb by the County Commission to house the Doddridge County Library.

The deed indicates the amount paid for the property was $2,196,127.22, but does not indicate if this amount does or does not include interest that may have been paid. At press time, the answer to this and other questions had not been answered.

The amount paid off by the Commission and Library Board was about $900,000.

It is known that part of the building houses a business, but it is not known if the business will vacate the building so the library can expand, or if this part of the building will continue to be leased for business purposes.
