William “Bill” Roger Evans, 85 of Salem passed away on Monday, March 29, 2021 at United Hospital Center. He was born August 20, 1935 in Industrial, WV son of the late Cecil Lee Evans and Clarice Velma Pratt Evans Utter. Bill worked for Judel Glass Factory and last worked as a well tender for Mutschelknaus Oil and Gas. He enjoyed collecting model trains and cars along with tinkering in the garage and listening to bluegrass music. He loved spending time with his family. Bill is survived by his wife Verna Louise Thompson Evans whom he married on April 19, 1959; two daughters, Tina Louise Martin and Danny Lee, Bristol, Lorena Dawn Bland and Hubert “Hubie” Jr, Salem; four grandchildren, Amanda Jackson and Jeremy, Jessica McCoy and Travis, Jamie Bland and Hannah, and Eric Martin; four great grandchildren, Abby, Finley, Michael and Gabriel; one brother, two sisters, several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Bill was preceded in death by five siblings. A Private Service will be held at Davis Funeral Home and Crematory, Salem, 1999 W.
