On February 9th, 2021 DCHS Alumni held a meeting at the Fairview Diner to form the DCHS Alumni Association and begin planning the 1st Annual All-Classes Reunion scheduled for October 2nd at the Doddridge County Park.
Those in attendance included Greg Barton, Debbie (Shinn) Cantrell,
Lisa (Boyce) Daquilante, Kay (Boyce) Correira, Ronald Dotson, John and Linda (Stubbs) Strickling, Merlene (Heflin) Kelley, Lyle and Alice Ann (McConnell) Fultz, Pat and Patsy (Mayfield) Heaster and Tammy (Heaster) Beamer.
Greg Barton led the meeting questioning if those in attandance would like to see the DCHS Alumni Association to be a continuing non-profit organization that could not only host Alumni functions but also be able to provide scholarships in for future DCHS Graduates.
The group decided to become a Non-Profit Organization and then elected officers for the organization. Those elected included: Merlene Kelley, President; Alice Ann Fultz, Vice President; Lisa Daquilante, Secretary; and Lyle Fultz, Treasurer.
It was decided that a bank account would be opened at the West Union Bank with two persons signature for any withdrawl made. Those approved to sign the checks included: Lyle Fultz, Pat Heaster and Merlene Kelley.
Committee chairpersons for the up coming reunion were approved for the decorating, program, set-up, silent auction, and registration committees.
A discussion was held concerning notification of the DCHS classes of this event. For the classes who have been holding reunions and have the names and addresses, emails and/or phone numbers or for others who are interested in attending and recieving the up to date information, please call Alice Fultz at 304-641-7254.
The next meeting will be held on March 5th, 2021, at 5PM, Fairview Diner meeting room.
