Loraine Guindolla Burnside

   On Wednesday January 27, 2021 Loraine Guindolla Burnside, loving wife, mother and grandmother went on to be with the Lord at the age of 88.

   Lorraine was born on December 15, 1932 in Putnam County, WV to Robert and Gertrude Bailey.  She had four siblings, Amy, Robert, James, and Reba Jean.  Lorraine graduated from Poca High School in 1951.  She married Edward Burnside on March 3, 1951.    Together they have five children, Robert Burnside and wife Debbie, Ted Burnside, Sharon Bagwell and husband Bob, James Burnside, and Kenneth Burnside.  They also have five grandchildren Bobby Burnside and wife Emily, David Burnside and wife Lori, Suzanne Burnside, Stephen Burnside and wife Marlana, and Sara Burnside.  In addition they have eight great grand-children as well. 

   Lorraine spent time traveling with her husband while he was in the Navy and they moved back to West Virginia in 1963.  They lived in the Miletus community of Doddridge County.  Lorraine was known to help out the local athletes by giving them rides home from practice whenever they needed it.     

   She worked several years in the garment factory in West Union.  After her husband passed away she moved in with her daughter Sharon who was in the Air Force.  They lived in several locations including Okinawa Japan, Colorado Springs, Tucson, and most recently Glendale Arizona.  Loraine made the most of wherever she was and she made several visits back to West Virginia for many years.  She loved to spend time with her family.  She made wonderful dinners.  She also enjoyed playing cards and bingo.   

   Lorraine was preceded in death by her husband Edward, her siblings Amy, Robert, James, Reba Jean, her sons Ted and Kenneth, and her granddaughter Suzanne.
