On January 2, 2020, the Doddridge County Citizens began to cast their ballots on the issue of a Special Election to provide funding for the Doddridge County Library, Doddridge County Park, West Virginia University WV Extension Service Doddridge County (4-H) and the Doddridge County Health Department from July 1, 2021 to July 1, 2025.
This one Levy to cover all services would be added to the regular taxes per assessment, in the amounts of 2.5 cents per $100 dollars for Class 1 Property (owner occupied property), 4.5 cents per $100 for Class II property (equipment), 9 cents per $100 for Class III and IV property (business, royalty, out of state owners, vacation properties)
Dividing the $1,821,491 to be raised yearly, through this Levy, each agency would receive per year the amounts of: Library $673,952; Health Department $437,150; Extension Service $127,504; and Park $582,877.
From the unofficial totals for the November General Election, there were 4,602 registered voter with 3,098 voters casting their ballots.
Unofficially, the vote count in the Levy Election was 548.

The unofficial totals given the night of the Election were: 380 voted for the Levy and 168 votes against, which is 69% and over the 60% needed to pass.
Canvassing and certification will be completed by the Doddridge County Commission on January 22, 2021 at 9:00am. And will reflect the official totals.
