The DCHS Athletic Department recently received a donation of $5000 from the Jan Chapman Family Foundation. This donation was earmarked for the Football and Track teams, which will each receive $2500. Jan Chapman was the quarterback of the 1972 Bulldog Football team. Mr. Chapman said that football was the sport that he played for four years in high school and that it held a special place in his heart and memories. Although he never ran track in high school, he did say that he had noticed the efforts and success of both the boys’ and girls’ track teams through the years and wanted to help them out as well. This is certainly not the first time that Mr. Chapman has helped DCHS athletics out financially, as through the years his Key Oil Company has offered assistance to several of our high school sports.
DCHS is very thankful of the generosity of the Jan Chapman Family Foundation, now and in the past as well.
