Christmas In The Hills Fund Raiser a Success

On December 14, 2020, the West Union ATV Club held a Fundraiser/Toy Collection ride to assist Sheriff Headley in his “Magical Christmas” give away, that provides toys for children  at Christmas.

Hot Chocolate and cookies were served by the West Union ATV Club members with Santa and the Grinch showing up in support of the ride, handing candy canes out to the children (big and small) who were present.

Around seventy riders on thirty-one ATVs left out of the meadow below the old Oxford Store and headed South into Ritchie County for a twenty-seven  mile ride   through the hollows, creeks, woods and over the hills, ending back at the starting point some three hours later.

This ride began on a rock road, then traveled a hard road before going into the woods where the roads were either gravel, creek roads, paths through the woods or simply mud roads. The trail crossed Hughes River two times.

Around nine-hundred dollars plus a box truck half filled with toys was donated and is to be given to Sheriff Headley for the Magical Christmas give-away.

The Dollar Store in West Union and the Family Dollar Store  in Pennsboro also donated their toy drive toys to this effort.   It is believed that a memorable (good) time was had by all!

The West Union ATV Club has Tee Shirts, Metal Coffee Mugs, koozies and Christmas Ornaments to commemorate the ride on sale at JPS Service Station or you can contact any West Union ATV Club  members.
