I was pleasantly surprised upon learning that the Doddridge County Cross Country designed their shirt this year in recognition of my being the first and only cross county runner at the Doddridge County high school in 1962.
I sincerely appreciate this honor and would like to thank the team and coaches for their consideration.
The Doddridge teams of the past worked hard to be the best in the state in class single A, and this year’s team will no doubt strive to carry on that tradition. The athletes improve every year which demonstrates their commitment to the cross county programs.
I would also like to honor Coach Stansberry for starting the cross country program at Doddridge County High School in 1962.
