The game started with Doddridge kicking off to Tygart Valley. A good night for football with clear skies and temp’s in the 60’s with nine minutes to go in the first quarter Tygart Valley scored the first touchdown on a twenty-five yard run. After a missed extra point the score was Tygart Valley 6 — Doddridge County 0.
On the insuing kickoff #10 Hunter Jenkins returned the ball to Tygart Valley 36. On the second play from scrimmage #24 Reese Burnside scored on a 35 yard run. After a successful P.A.T by #46 Devinney The score DCHS 7-6.
At the 7:00 minute mark in the first quarter #51 Mike Chadler sacked the TVHS Quarterback, causing a fumble that was recovered by #44 Simon James. Four plays later #5 Jarred Jones scored on a one yard run after a missed extra point the score was Doddridge 13-6 with 3 minutes to go in the first quarter. The last score in the first quarter came with less than a minute to go TYHS scored on one yard run. PAT was no good. At the end of the first quarter Doddridge 13 Tygart Valley 12.
The next score occurred when #10 Hunter Jenkins scored on a eight yard run. #46 Devinney made the extra point making the score 20-12 DCHS at the 10:18 mark in the second quarter. After a fourth and twenty three TV punted DCHS took over on their own 48. With fourth and goal at the six #46 Devinney kicked a 24 yard field goal making the score with 2:16 left in the half Doddridge 23 Tygart Valley 12. TVHS returned the kickoff to the 26. After a nine yard sack by #26 Connor Cunningham TVHS, with fourth and nine at the 28 tried to punt but was blocked by #4 Dylan Knight and recovered on the eight yard line by #24 Burnside.
Doddridge took over with 25 seconds left in the half. After DCHS time-out with 19 seconds left, DCHS moved the ball to the three yard line where #5 Jones proceeded to score with 8 seconds left in the half. The extra point boomed of the cross bar for a miss. Half-time score Doddridge 29 Tygart Valley 12.
DCHS received the 2nd half kick-off with #10 Jenkins returning the ball to DCHS 31 yard line. DCHS marched down the field with #24 Burnside scoring on a 35 yard pass from #5 Jones, PAT was No Good. The score was 35-12 Doddridge with 7:51 left in the 3rd. At the end of the 3rd quarter the score remained 35-12 DCHS.
With 6:10 left in the game #44 Simon James scored on a three yard run. After a DCHS fumble on the four yard line TVHS took over with 11:51 left in the fourth. A stop was made by #42 Gabe Stewart with 9:30 left in the game TVHS made a 12 yard Punt. Doddridge tookover on TVHS 21 yard line with 9:00 left in the fourth. With 6:10 left in the game #5 Jones scored on a 1 yard run. With a successful PAT the score was DCHS 42-12.
The next K. O by #46 Devinney. TVHS managed to return the ball to their 9 yard line. #10 Jenkins intercepted the ball on TVHS 36 yard line with 5:58 left in the game. #10 Jenkins needs one more interception to tie the record. With 4:24 remaining in the game #25 Seth Cass scored his first varsity touchdown on a 21 yard run. The two point conversion was called back on a Doddridge penalty the rekick was marked by an offside penalty the third try from the twenty yard line was good making the score DCHS 49-12. Final score Doddridge 49- Tygart Valley 12. There were two freshman firsts in the game #77 Kyle Hart made his first varsity tackle and #25 Seth Cass scored his first Touchdown.

Upon winning the Tygart’s Valley Game, the Doddridge County Bulldogs won the Single “A” Little Kanawha Conference Champion.
Play offs begin with Doddridge County Playing East Hardy at the Cline Stansberry Stadium on November 14, 2020 at 1:30 PM. Covid restrictions will apply but there may be extra tickets available by calling DCHS.
