Ruby May Ash

Ruby May Ash, 92 of Salem passed away on Thursday, October 22, 2020 at Genesis Salem Center.   She was born July 29, 1928 in Wallace, daughter of the late Blaine Alexander and Dicie Faye Walker Robinson. 

   Ruby was a homemaker.  She was a member of the Pike Fork Community Church. Her hobbies were crocheting, quilting, doing word search puzzles, cooking and spending time with the family. 

   Ruby is survived by one son, Kenneth Ash, North Tonawanda, NY; four daughters, Sue Mercer and Wendel, Center Point, Linda Nugent and Robert, Palm Harbor, FL, Teresa Hoste, Salem, Patty Johnson and Joe, Sandy Lake, PA; thirteen grandchildren, Heather Straight, Brian Mercer, Amy Dunbar, Pam Iddings, Eric Ash, Robert Ash, Christine Ash, Kenneth Ash, David Ash, Melissa Charles, Cassandra Hartung, James Johnson, and Melinda Johnson; five step grandchildren, Shannon Hoste, Tonya Hoste, Shawn Hoste, Chris Hoste, and Brandon Hoste; twenty four great grandchildren; sixteen step great grandchildren; four step great great grandchildren; two sisters, Barbara Ellen Swiger and Gary, Center Point,  Shirley Lou Anderson, Shirley; numerous nieces and nephews. 

   In addition to her parents, Ruby was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Arthur Ash on May 9, 1977; one son, David Ash; four brothers, James Allen Robinson, Franklin Robinson, Roy Douglas Ash, and Alva Junior Ash; one sister, Doris Stowers.   

   Family received friends at Davis Funeral Home – Salem, 1999 W Main Street, Salem, WV, on Sunday, October 25, 2020 from 12 Noon until time of funeral service at 2:00PM with Pastor Denver Burnside officiating with proper distancing and face mask required.
