Ruth “Jerry” Bowen

 Ruth “Jerry” Bowen 92 of Clarksburg went home to be with her Lord on Thursday, July 30, 2020 in the Clarksburg Nursing and Rehab Center.  She was born on January 17, 1928 at Good Hope a daughter of the late Wesley and Ora Hazel Nicholson Kelley.  She was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years Robert L. Bowen, three sisters, Virginia Ring, Louise Morgan and Annie Boyle

   Surviving are two daughters, Roberta “Bobbie” Brown (Jerry), Sun Valley, Beth Ann Herrod (Rick), Salem, three sons, Norman “Butch” Bowen (Marta), Mt. Clare, Roy Lee Bowen (Linda) and Boyd L. “Jughead” Bowen  (Randi)  Salem, 14 grandchildren, 27 great grandchildren,  5 great great grandchildren, one sister, Lois Jett (Sidney) Lost Creek.

    Mrs. Bowen had worked for J.C. Penney and was retired from United Hospital Center with 24 years service as a switchboard operator.  She was a member of Coplin United Methodist Church.  The family would like to gratefully acknowledge Zannie Jenikins, Linda Bowen and Sissy Blankenship for their wonderful care they gave Ruth in her home.  A special thanks to Dr. Bowles and Staff of Clarksburg Nursing & Rehab for their love and care they provided.

   Graveside services were conducted in the Coplin Cemetery, Jarvisville, on Monday, August 3, 2020 at 11:30 a.m. with Pastor Carl Radcliff presiding.  Expressions of sympathy may be extended to the family at www.harbertfuneralhome.com.  Harbert Funeral Home is privileged to serve the Bowen family.
