Trella Frances Stubbs, 86, of West Union, WV, departed this life on Tuesday, June 16, 2020, at her residence, surrounded by her family.
Trella was born September 21, 1933 on Morgans Run in Doddridge County, WV, a daughter of the late Samuel and Delcy (Ashcraft) Griffin. She worked as a seamstress in the garment industry of Doddridge County working for various garment factories. Trella loved cooking and she cooked many meals at the Doddridge County Park for various organizations. She served as a foster parent for many years and she also enjoyed her time as a grandma for Doddridge County Elementary School. Trella graduated from Doddridge County High School with the class of 1955.
She is survived by her children, Denver Stubbs II of Smithburg, WV; Jennifer Moore of West Union, WV; Loretta Barnes of Clarksburg, WV; Rachel Zacarias of Castlewood, VA; Sheldon Weekley of West Union, WV; Christina McKinney of Ellenboro, WV; brother, Donnie Griffin of Mt. Clare, WV, along with many loving grandchildren and great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Denver F. Stubbs, and her brother, Harden Griffin.
Funeral services will be 11am, Saturday, June 20, 2020, at the McCullough-Rogers Funeral Home, Pennsboro, WV with James Ashcraft officiating. Burial will follow in the Chestnut Grove Cemetery on Big Flint in Doddridge County, WV. Visitation will be from 5pm-7pm on Friday, at the funeral home, adhering to social distancing guidelines.
