On Tuesday, June 2, 2020 after a combined investigation by Deputies R. Thomas and C. Travis an arrest was made in the case of James Moore of West Union. Mr. Moore is the author of the now somewhat infamous Facebook post professing his love for a 10 year old female. After receiving numerous complaints Sheriff Michael Headley initiated an investigation into the accused, by deputies Thomas and Travis, which culminated in the arrest of Mr. Moore today. Assisting in the investigation were Cpl. Pringle of the West Virginia State Police Crimes Against Children Unit, and The Child Advocacy Center. After consulting with the Doddridge County Prosecutor’s Office the accused was charged with Soliciting a Minor via Computer, WV Code §61-3C-14b.
