MAYBELLE SWIGER

   Maybelle Swiger, 93, of Salem departed this life on Tuesday, April 21, 2020 in the United Hospital Center.  She was born on April 11, 1927 in West Union a daughter of the late Estie and Lucinda Richmond Pierce.  On August 18, 1945 she married Floyd Swiger Jr. who preceded her in death on April 17, 2008.

   Surviving are one daughter, Leasa Edwards, Clarksburg, two sons,  Larry Swiger, Lumberport, Randy Swiger and wife Kimberly, Salem, fifteen grandchildren, one of whom made her home with Floyd and Maybelle; Shaelynn May Holepit, twenty-seven great grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; one sister and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by three sons, Terry Lynn Swiger, Jerald Lee Swiger, Richard Swiger; one daughter-in-law, Cheryl Swiger, ten sisters and three brothers.

   Mrs. Swiger was a former employee of the Salem Personal Care home where she worked in the Dietary Department as a cook.  She attended the Salem Church of God.  Maybelle was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother whose favorite days were spent sitting on her porch bird watching, at her dining room table with her bible and in the company of her family making memories.  She was a lover of Christ and teacher of not only the written word, but unconditional love.

   Private graveside services will be conducted in the Center Point Cemetery on Saturday, April 25, 2020 with Pastor Harley Jeffries Jr. presiding.  There will be private family viewing in the Harbert Funeral Home 287 W.
