On April 4th, Governor Jim Justice signed an Executive Order to expand restrictions for three WV Counties, Harrison, Monongahela, and Kanawha after signing an order the previous evening for Jefferson, Berkley and Morgan Counties which expands the authority given to the local health departments.
Provisions of the order include: Limiting groups size up to 5 people, directing businesses to have employees to work from home, allowing the National Guard to assist county agencies, and allowing the local health departments to set occupancy and social distancing in businesses.
It was said that Justice’s reason was that 38 % of the positive cases of COVID 19 were in the three counties of Harrison, Monongahela and Kanawha and adding Jefferson, Morgan and Berkley brought the total to 62% of the positive cases rests in the six counties that were placed under expanded restrictions.
Justice also reminded people to stay at home and if you find it necessary to go out to remember to social distanceyourself.
