A message from Superintendent Cheeseman:
Governor Jim Justice has extended school closures in West Virginia until April 20, at which time the situation will be reevaluated. Doddridge County Schools will continue to operate remotely. Beginning Thursday, March 26th, we will start the materials sent home last week as part of our remote learning program. Our teachers have provided engaging activities for our students to complete. These activities are meant to be challenging, but fun. We want learning to continue, but we also understand that our students may be feeling stressed. Our top concern is the health of our students. Here are some suggestions that I have found helpful. Try to establish a routine. It won’t be your normal routine, but a routine is helpful. Try to get some exercise, particularly if you can get outside and remain away from others. Limit your time on social media and watching the news as much as possible. Our parents and our students are doing some really great things; but sometimes it can get overwhelming. If your child needs to talk to one of our mental health specialists, please call the board office at 304-873-2300 to leave a message for Jeremy Waugaman.
Food delivery will continue next week on the same schedule as this week, which is Monday and Thursday at your child’s bus stop.
I know that your children have a lot of questions about the future. We will do our very best to give you school information as soon as we are able. I am very proud of our students and am looking forward to seeing them at school when we are able. Please remind your children that they are missed and that they are loved.
