Doddridge County Schools Coronavirus Update March 13, 2020

As you may have heard, Governor Jim Justice closed all schools in the State of West Virginia for an indefinite period of time due to the spread of the Coronavirus.

Beginning Monday, March 16 we will be moving to a remote learning approach for education.

Although students will not be coming to school, we will be educating them. We will also be providing meals.

Beginning on March 16 and continuing until school resumes, we will have the Elementary, Middle and High schools open to distribute breakfast from 8:00 till 9:00 o’clock and lunch beginning at 11:00 until 12:30.

Beginning on Tuesday, March 17 we will also be sending our busses out with grab and go meals. These busses will be delivering breakfast to student bus stops on the same schedule as a 2 hour delay.

A secondary delivery of food will be delivered on the usual evening bus   route.

Mental Health services will be available during the closure. If you have a need please call Jeremy Waugaman, at 304-873-2300.

Your students will also receive educational instruction while they are at home. In January, Polar Exploration Packets were sent home. For the week of Monday, March 16 through Friday, March 20 we will use five Polar Express Packets. If you have misplaced your Polar Express Packets, please call your school to make arrangements. Your Student’s teacher will be contacting you on Monday to give you further guidance regarding our remote learning procedures.

All after-school activities are suspended until further notice. This means no athletics, arts, or after school programs.

All community use of the school property is also suspended until further    notice.

We live in unprecedented times. Your children will have questions and concerns. Please let them know that we all love them and are looking forward to having them back in school as soon as it is permitted to be reopened.

I am thankful for the support of the Community.

If you have questions or concerns please feel free to contact me.
